1 can start in the middle, or enter the ball to 2/3 on the wing. On wing starts, 1 spaces away — clearing to the weak side or staying up top as the safety — and the opposite wing drops to the corner before the pick begins. Start from the middle with 1 so both corners are occupied and 4 can punish the weak-side helper. The screener pivots and rolls hard to the rim while the ball handler sells the drive, then hits the pocket pass or finishes.

5 sets the screen for 1.
1 drives hard off the screen and makes the help defender commit.
5 pivots, seals the defender, and rolls straight to the rim.
1 finishes or delivers the pocket pass to 5 for the layup.

Seal the defender by keeping the body between the defender and the ball.
